Satin Flags for Indoor Stands

We see flag stands in the media every day – they are a regular feature of television broadcasts. In fact, no press conference or official speech by a politician is complete without national flags on stands in the background. Flag stands with glossy satin flags are also a representative fixture in offices and meeting rooms.

Double-sided glossy satin flags have become the standard and are perfect for filming and photography. We make national flags in accordance with the current knowledge of their designs. We supply flag stands and their fittings – struts of various shapes to ensure attractive flag display.

Until recently, double-sided flags were two velvet flags sewn together, sometimes with an additional separation layer if, with high contrast and no overlap between the sides of the flags, optical separation was necessary. They were quite labor intensive, requiring great care when stitching together to avoid wrinkles. We still see them quite often in the media.

For several years now, satin flags printed on sandwich satin have been popular. Both sides of the flag, together with a PU separator layer, are immediately bonded together. Digital printing is carried out on both sides of the flag. The edges of the flag are trimmed, without hemming. The surface of the flag is smooth and slightly shiny.

SATIN FLAG FABRICS

For the production of satin/velvet flags (these terms are used interchangeably), we use single layer or multi-layer flag fabrics. This is usually 100% polyester. with a weight of 125-420 g/m².

Desirable characteristics of such a fabric:

  • good print saturation

  • slightly shiny but without glare

  • important for good appearance in the media

  • not easily creased

  • does not require hemming

  • high grammage to facilitate natural layering both with and without shaping struts.

100% POLYESTER SATIN 125 g/m²

A single, lightweight satin flag fabric. The print has good saturation on the 'right’ side – the other, 'left’ side is less coloured. Used both for single-sided single-ply flags and for double-sided flags sewn together from two layers.

SATIN sandwich 100% POLYESTER

Gently glossy flag fabric with a high weight of 420 g/m². Ideal fabric for national and local government flags on flag stands. Outer layers – 100% polyester, inner PU layer. Application – indoors only.

WE PRODUCE FLAGS IN VIVID, INTENSE COLOURS

Satin flags are digitally printed, a sandwich material is designed for such printing. We achieve vivid colours and high accuracy of detail.

The price of the flag does not depend on the number of colours or the complexity of the design.

DIGITAL PRINTING

REGULATORY COMPLIANT FLAGS

Flags are our passion. We are interested in the history and heraldry of national flags.  We repeatedly advise clients on issues such as the proper use of national colours, emblems, coats of arms, the use of non-standard flag proportions.

Flag Sizes

The dimensions of the flags are adapted to the height of the flag stands. Domestic flag stands are generally 2.20 to 2.50 m high. Imported stands sometimes have flagpoles as high as 3 m. The standard ratio for the Polish flag is 5 : 8.

Typical dimensions of flags, depending on the height of theflag pole:

  • Mast 2.00 m – flag 90 x 150 cm
  • Mast 2.20 cm – flag 100 x 160 cm
  • Mast 2.50 cm – flag 120 x 180 cm

FINISHING OF FLAGS

We do our best to ensure that flags remain in good condition on the flagpoles for as long as possible. Durable stitching and the right materials give flags a long life. We are familiar with the finishing standards of flags and make custom hems.

Metal eyelets

The most common attachment of flags to stands is 2 metal eyelets in gold or silver.

HOW TO HANDLE SATIN FLAGS

There are a few rules that will allow us to enjoy the flags on the stands for a long time:

  • Use them indoors only

  • Set them up in a place where there is no risk of a lot of draught and knockdown. At the very least, knocking over the stand means soiling the flag

  • Attach the flags carefully to the poles.

  • When the flags are not needed, roll them up – preferably in a roll. When rolling, pay attention to protect the printed surface from damage by metal grommets

  • Store rolled up flags vertically and protect them from folding – flags lying flat may, with prolonged storage and higher temperatures, become creased.

FLAG WASHING

Single fabric satin flags can be washed in normal washing liquid at 30 deg C, without spinning or overloading the washing machine. Ironing is possible with the iron set to „synthetic”.

Double-sided flags are not washed – light soiling can be removed with a damp sponge in diluted detergent. Ironing at creases – best avoided, or if you do, like delicate synthetics.
